Poised yet relaxed, the contours of this sofa are remarkably body conscious and naturally create a space for two people to sit at an angle and have a conversation. It's form is the result of Ico Parisi's true mastery. This piece can be used in formal or informal interiors - confident and nonchalant in any environment.

This piece has been fully restored and upholstered in blue-black Japanese selvedge denim. The bench seat has an independent fully sprung edge. Customize it for your space in a floral, stripe, velvet or bouclé.

Set of two Scallop backed armchairs in Chestnut wood, Italy, 1940's. Attributed to Paolo Buffa.

The lines of these chairs are masterful— the whimsical scalloped backs are beautifully proportioned and rendered. The graceful notched arms add to their sculptural presence. The grain of the wood has both refinement and character. The cognac chestnut wood has a subtle, glowing depth.

The chairs have been sensitively restored — cleaned, polished and waxed- to maintain their beautiful patina and freshly reupholstered in a classic Rogers and Goffigon espresso + bone ticking.

Attributed to Paola Buffa by virtue of the scalloping as well as their presence, refined detailing and deft proportions.

Mint green sculptural desk lamp, enamelled metal, wood and brass, France, 1950's

This desk lamp is as elegant as it is functional. It's unusual color, graceful lines and masterful proportions are remarkable and unusual. Skillfully made and deftly designed, the lamp is a mix of stylish French nuance and refined industrial design.

The shade swivels and tilts. The height of the lamp is controlled by the painted wood knob which adjusts the shade's relative up/down position thanks to its pivoting round joint that is itself a well thought through aspect of the lamps function and appearance. The piece has a desirable patina that shows the traces of time on its materiality while maintaining a graceful appearance.

This great looking set of refined, spare dining chairs have a distinctive carved offset detail to the frame. Their trim profile belies their sturdy nature -- Made of solid walnut with sprung seats and high backs, they are extremely comfortable and supportive. The legs terminate in black sabots. The outside backs have a vertical row of nail heads lining the backrest.

Chairs are covered in their original brown vinyl which is still in good condition. Some minor nicks and checks are present on the frames due to age and use. All joints are tight and sound. Very tall and stylish Italian rattan floor lamp. This rattan is skillfully crafted and woven with a dynamic criss cross pattern. The fluid lines give this lamp great visual interest and an open, welcoming character. The base's substantial footprint adds to the stability of the piece and contributes interest to the simple form. The lamp's unusual height will add a dramatic note to any room. Freshly rewired with a chocolate brown cloth covered flat cord and toe tap on/off switch. Standard bulb socket. Frosted globe bulb recommended.

Luisa dining chairs by Franco Albini for Poggi, Italy, 1950's

This set of iconic minimalist Luisa chairs retains their original green wool upholstery and patina. They have not been reupholstered or restored. Set of six accompanied by an authenticity report from the Fondazione Franco Albini.

The Luisa chair is an Italian Design classic with much about it to admire and appreciate: minimalist, spare appearance; perfected, refined proportions; expressive joinery; playful feet; confident, stylish angles.

These weighty brass andirons are beautifully proportioned and show a warm patina. A graceful arch provides the base for a nicely tapered stem which terminates in a ball finial. Their pared down form is clean and unobtrusive yet with a presence all their own. The wrought iron rails where the burning logs will sit have some light rusting on the surface.

A pair of authentic arm chairs from Chandigarh deisgned by Pierre Jeanneret. Date of manufacture is between 1955-1960. These chairs are made of solid Burma teak with caned seats and backs. The rear upper rail of each chair base has been stenciled.

This model was designed for both civic and residential use at Chandigarh, the Utopian capital designed by Le Corbusier. The thin open-weave caning has recently been replaced. The seat cushions are new: A black ottoman fabric with chocolate brown welting.

The frames have been masterfully cleaned and waxed-- while maintaining and respecting their patina-- by our blue chip restorer.

Counterbalance pendant lamp in Enamel & Brass attributed to Angelo Lelii for Arredoluce, Italy, 1950's

Cheerful bright yellow adjustable pendant fixture in lacquered aluminum and brass with yellow and white diffuser + yellow counterweight. Counterweight controls fixture height and adds to the sculptural quality of the piece. Original brass canopy, trim and component parts are all intact and have a nice patina.

Freshly rewired for use in the US with a black cloth covered cord with an added round brass canopy (not shown, please inquire for photos) sized to cover contemporary j-boxes.

Opaline Glass Pendant Lantern designed by Angelo Lelii.

This iconic lantern is a clear example of Angelo Lelii's mastery of scale, proportion and detailing. The gently arced brass ribs are separated from the opaline shade by tiny red cones. The red lacquer color is a bright and balanced note in contrast to the brass details. The brass has its excellent warm patina intact.

Shade diameter at widest portion of the lantern is 9" and narrows to 3.5" diameter red trim. The stem is approx 15". Overall height is 28".

Wear consistent with age and use. The pendant has a few minor paint losses that should not be visible when installed. Typical signs of age and use. This is a beautiful piece with great patina to the brass.

This piece can be re-wired for you and a flat brass canopy can be added to the original canopy so it may be installed over contemporary j-boxes.

Sideboard with lighthearted flair in Oak veneers and solids.

This stylish sideboard has rich, beautiful Cognac color and a striking presence. The proportions are extremely pleasing and well balanced. The front is punctuated by a running faceted motif. The fluted panel legs terminate in a recessed ebonized foot. There is a whimsical, decorative undulating rail that is a final touch.

There are some old stable veneer repairs that are a reflection of its history. One of the knobs has been replaced with a similar knob that has a reeded stem (unlike the others). All knobs appear the same when viewed from the front. This adds a note of quirky character without detracting from it's spirit. The drawers are stable and can be used without hesitation but do have some warping on the bottom panels.

The sideboard is a special piece and has been cleaned, freshly waxed and polished by our expert finisher in New York City.

This set of six informal dining chairs are coveted Audoux Minet classics. Made of beechwood with the design duo's signature hemp rope, the easygoing style of this set has the perfect South of France attitude.

This classic pair of swivel chairs has been freshly reupholstered in muslin. The walnut bases have also been refinished and restored. The upholstered buttons on the back and mini welt can be maintained when you upholster with your choice of fabric or removed for a more contemporary appearance.

While the chairs are on the petite side, their comfort feels like a larger chair. The back height is taller than many barrel swivel chairs yielding a much more supportive feel. The chairs swivel 360 degrees and also rock back and forth... incredibly satisfying!

1960's round Italian rattan wall mirror. Rattan is worked in a deft curlicue fashion. This piece is very nicely proportioned and practically sized at 22" diameter. The mirror itself is very clear and in excellent condition. It has an integral hook for convenient hanging. This double framed mirror has been skillfully crafted and has a beautiful warm patina.

This charming, small slab table with its radical edge, spherical feet and bent steel painted frame is as great looking as it is practical.

While sturdy, it is also lightweight and can be easily moved to accommodate extemporaneous needs, such as for a drinks table.

The slab has an appealing irregular shape and is about 1.5" thick. The surface retains the chatter of the saw marks adding to its character and revealing the history of how it was made. The wood finish is beautiful with rich burl figuring. The hollow surface knot is about 2" x 3/4" on its surface. Scattered checking on the surface adds to the depth of color and richness of the piece.

This whimsical handwoven 1970's Italian rattan pendant with original lucite diffuser and solid brass fittings offers charm, patina and an informal touch.

The white lucite plate is attached to the rattan shade with unlacquered solid brass minimalist cylinders. When it's time to replace the lightbulbs, the lucite is easily removable by unscrewing a single brass cylinder. It's woven shape shows the hand of its maker in that it is a bit asymmetrical when viewed from a particular angle. (see image 1 vs. image 2) To us, this is a sign of character and a positive attribute.

The pendant has been freshly rewired with a black fabric wrapped cord and minimalist flat brass canopy sized to cover standard j-boxes. The fixture will accept 3 standard base LED bulbs.

Charming Italian 1940’s hand-made occasional table with a scalloped edge. In blond walnut with an inlayed burl center.

Designed by Osvaldo Borsani. A reference to the English Pie Crust table. The swooped legs and scalloped top edge combine to form a lighthearted piece. This table will read beautifully in a minimalist, post- or prewar room.

Freshly refinished and waxed by our blue-chip restoration shop, the finish is soft, subtle and crisp to complement the underlying patina of this mid-century piece. We had the top polished out so its ready to slip easily into its future home.

This beauty came from Brescia - a 3,200 year old city in northern Italy at the foot of the Alps known for its machine tooling. Beautiful old quality hand tools had to have been at play to create the amazing scallop detail to this piece.
